What to Expect at Your First Physical Therapy Visit

All new clients begin with an evaluation to discover your whole story. Evaluations are 90 minutes and take place in a private treatment room. Then, we complete a full physical assessment. This assessment includes looking at posture, range of motion, strength, joint and soft tissue integrity and quality. We’ll evaluate movement patterns contributing to your pain, begin with a few exercises, and develop an individualized treatment plan to help you recover.

Your Treatment Plan & Therapy Sessions

Your treatment plan is individualized and tailored specifically to your experience. Together, we’ll determine how frequently to have physical therapy sessions, and what they entail. Visits are typically a combination of services and techniques from manual therapy to Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). We will communicate clearly and educate you at every step of your experience with us.

Care at Summus Rehabilitation extends beyond individual appointments. What Patients are Saying

“ I was nervous when I had my consult as I have never gone to PT before, but Monica put me at ease right from the start. She is patient-centered and wants to ensure you feel comfortable and safe at all times. She does a great job of explaining things (I've learned so much about anatomy and body functioning) and walking you through what is going on and how it will be addressed. She also is very clear that, as the patient, you have agency and a voice in your treatment. I highly recommend!”

— Karina B.

“EVERYONE should give themselves the gift of health. Summus Rehabilitation has helped me improve my health in many areas without any sort of medicine or invasive procedure. They are excellent! Service oriented, very knowledgeable, and invested in their patients.”

— M. Vel

“Our sessions feel like therapy for body AND soul!”

— Brittney P.
